To enrich the cultural quality of Milford Borough, Pike County, PA through an outdoor community oriented summer concert series featuring a diverse musical program for the enjoyment of Milford area residents and visitors.

Description

Milford Borough’s Music in the Park Summer Concert Series is an annual free community oriented summer concert series, sponsored by Milford Borough, Milford area businesses and private sponsors. The series takes place in Milford Borough’s Memorial Park, a beautiful daytime venue offering residents and visitors the opportunity to enjoy some of the areas many talented performing musicians.

History

Milford Borough’s Free Family Oriented Summer Community Concert Series, affectionately called “Music in the Park”, began in 2006 through the efforts of Eric Yetter and Steve Panicucci. The concept was to continue the music in Milford during the summer months following the Milford Music Festival. Eight free community concerts were held in the borough’s Memorial Park on Sunday afternoons during the months of July and August featuring some of the area’s finest talent. These concerts were made possible through the financial support of area businesses.

“Music in the Park” nearly came to an abrupt end after one season but was able to continue in 2007 through the organizing efforts of Milford Borough’s Parks and Recreation Chairman Steve Panicucci, John Brodersen of Milford Music Center and School of Music, and Ernie Kara of Earthgate Studios. The 2007 series fell short of the planned ten concerts due to insufficient funds, however four concerts featuring eight different performers were able to take place through the generous support of a few local businesses.

Since 2006 “Music in the Park” has gained steady community support and continues to grow through the efforts of the organizers and volunteers working to raise funds, improve, and expand this free weekly concert series. The goal is to continue to present family-oriented free concerts during the months of July and August featuring a diverse range of music from area and regional performers.

Please keep in mind that these concerts are FREE to the public and can only happen through the financial contributions from our sponsors and supporters. With an annual budget between $7,500 and $10,000 we are confident that we can present and promote a quality concert series. All sponsorship monies received are used to produce and promote the concert series as well as promote our generous sponsors.
